New York Fashion Week Autumn 2022

New York Fashion Week, the busiest week in New York. From the 11th to the 16th of February, we saw amazing runways, eye-catching street style, fabulous events and celebrity appearances. Fashion week articles are always my favourite and even though this is only the second FW article I'm writing, I'm so excited to see what's going to come in future FWs because after this one, the bar has been set high.

STREET STYLE

Bright colours, big scarves, trench coats and monochrome, the public understood the fashion week assignment! Scarves! We saw SO many scarves being worn last week, they are a major trend for the season. People are loving the colourful, patterned and big and being paired with a nice trench is the way to go. I loved how much people were playing around with colours we saw blue matched with purple, pink matched with turquoise and orange matched with green! Some of these combos may be rare and may even be seen as a big NO in fashion but these icons made them work! I love how creative everyone becomes during fashion week, nobody is afraid to show off their best looks.

SHOWS

So many shows were occurred this NYFW and I would love to talk about them all but I decided to gather images from my favourite collections.

COACH

I loved this Coach collection because not only did we see a touch of elegance in some looks but we saw a more casual, everyday style in others. I love how Stuart Vevers included bright colours and darker ones, for example the coats were darker while the dresses and trousers were lighter. The bag shapes, gorgeous! Some were more square, others were more rectangular, I can already see these becoming a popular buy.

CAROLINA HERRERA

C.H will always be one of my favourite brands. This collection was a total success! The colours, the textures, the silhouettes and the patterns all complimented each other perfectly. Carrolina Herrera always shows such originality, there really isn't any other brand with such eye-catching, unique, gorgeous silhouettes. The choice of fabric ranged from silk to feathered and tweed to mesh, the variation was amazing!

PRABAL GURUNG

Colours, sequins, fluff, silk, what didn't we see in this collection? For the third and final collection I decided to talk about in this article, it was a hard choice but I just knew that Prabal Gurung deserved to be shown. Gurung experimented with brighter and darker colours and ended up with a beautiful line. We saw different cuts, variations of coverage and shapes.
